A Battle for the Past

With each passing day, more and more historical ground is lost, both literally and figuratively. Students are scoring lower than ever on history. The past is slipping through our fingers, but what can be done to renew an interest in our heritage?

 
On December 7th, 1865, Arkansas saw its bloodiest day.  150 years later, thousands gathered at the site of the gruesome battle that shaped Arkansas's development to witness history coming alive.  With the sesquintennial going strong, American's young and old are showing up in droves to experience the war that shaped the course of a nation.
